Allison WahlM.S., CCC-SLP Speech-Language Pathologist Allison grew up in Greensboro, NC. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders at Appalachian State University. After a year of working at a private tutoring firm, she returned to graduate school to pursue her masters (+30) in Speech Pathology at the West Virginia University. During graduate school, Allison spent two years obtaining experience in the assessment and treatment of both adults and children with a wide variety of concerns including auditory processing, articulation, language, fluency and voice. Allison completed her Clinical Fellow year at the Speech, Hearing and Learning Center where she was later named the director of speech services in 2006. Allison enjoys working with a wide variety of clients and their families, including preschoolers, school-age children and adolescents, and adults. In addition to conducting individual and group evaluation and therapy, she is also involved in the centers Facial Anomalies and Clefting Evaluation Team (FACET) and speech and language screenings at some local private schools. Allison is also one of the original dispensers of the SpeechEasy anti-stuttering device. Allison is a licensed speech pathologist with the State of South Carolina and has her Certificate of Clinical Competence. She is a member of the South Carolina Speech-Language- Hearing Association as well as the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Personally, Allison enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her dog. Her hobbies include walking, reading and traveling.
