Billing Policies

Cancellations/Makeups

As a therapy time is assigned to a child specifically, no refunds or credits are given for any reason when the client or family cancels a therapy session (example: client sickness, vacation, etc.). The therapist will try to make up client absences that are due to sickness, but this is not guaranteed. If our staff is unable to conduct the therapy session due to therapist absence, your account will be credited for those sessions. Two consecutive client absences or 25% of therapy sessions missed may warrant dismissal from therapy services. In addition, any account that has a client balance due past 30 days will also result in dismissal.

United Way Fee Subsidy

We offer a sliding fee scale for residents and employees of Greenville County for several services. For more information regarding qualification for this option please call the Speech, Hearing and Learning Center 331-1400. Fee Subsidy Form

Filing Insurance

If payment is made in full upon your first session of each month a discount of 25% will be applied to speech therapy fees. The Speech, Hearing and Learning Center will also extend this courtesy for payment of balances for speech therapy when insurance denies payment for these services as a non-covered service. In order to apply this discount, payment must be made in full within 30 calendar days of denial per the insurance company EOB.

Late Arrival

Sessions begin and end at scheduled times. There are no provisions for extending sessions to accommodate client tardiness. If a child is more than 10 minutes late for a session it is up to the therapists discretion as to whether they will see that child.
